I see you’re using the Oanda platform. I trade mostly through there in my Forex Acct. I never did understand that Ichimoku indicator, is it any good?

Yes, I use Oanda although forex isn’t my main trading activity.
Ichimoku indicator: good if you keep it simple, basically it removes the noise and gives you a zone, the “cloud”, where the market is in balance and where you do nothing and you should be long above and short below, that’s all there is to it.

OT-
I am a retail investor so I generally don’t follow the ups and downs on a daily basis, but recently I have been looking for opportunities and have been surprised by some of the action I have seen with the bids higher than the asks for 10s of seconds at a time. I was just wondering if this is normal or indicative of forced buying/selling or something else?

Most likely bad data. Non executable. This happens in stocks where there are many ECNs and the “smart” tape consolidation is mixed up because there is too much quote volume.
